The Nesting Sparrow

Notes: Part of the "Unexpected Love" story arc. Will be used in "Crossroads". Christmas triple drabble for Domi.

Translation of Elvish: Peredhel – half-elven.

The ceremony had been lovely indeed. Éowyn radiant and shining like Anor, and Haldir... He had been stunning in those intricate robes, Elrohir had to give him that. Unfortunately, just before the two lovers where going to exchange their vows, something had come up that had forced both Elrohir and Glorfindel to retreat. Something ... or rather someone.

A little sparrow had sat down on Glorfindel's shoulder. Fine, good. No worries there. Unfortunately he had then gazed around, and, thinking the golden strands on the Elda's head looked like very good nest material, the little guy had flown up, making himself comfortable on the Balrog Slayer's head. The moment the sparrow had started to pull on Glorfindel's hair, and Arda's most insane elf had begun to try and scare it away by waving his hands around like a mad-elf, Elrohir had dragged him away.

Now, the sparrow sat on Glorfindel's shoulder again, looking around as innocently as a new-born. The Elda himself starred at Elrohir, ever so often making a noise that sounded like ‘Hmpf'. His hair was a mess, and he had spent two hours to get it to behave earlier that day. The young peredhel sat next to his miffed lover, his hand sneaking up to caress his beloved's face, but was pushed away rudely. So Glorfindel was really angry at him. Well, too bad. But Elrohir simply had not been able to contain his laughter when Glorfindel redesigned his hairstyle...
