At first reading The Lord of the Rings, I (like many others) saw Aragorn and Éowyn is the one couple. Great was my distress when I found out that Aragorn in fact married Arwen. I didn't even have any memory of her *sigh* Evidently I had missed the few hints at their relationship.

Ever since then I wanted to see MY couple together in the end. But as always, much time passed between the wish and its fulfilment ... but since I started reading - and writing - fan fiction, I thought I might as well give this one a try.

The story itself is an Aragorn / Éowyn love story. Actually I really think those two are made for eachother (in my universe they are at least). Arwen does not have to give up her immortality, Elornd's heart isn't broken by that, and eventually Arwen will get over it. After all, she's got all the ages of the world ahead of her ... and I might even give her a new love in the end.

Even though I kept telling everyone who was interested that I'd never ever write slash fic (never say never *grin*), I might add some little bit of slash to the story in the final chapters.

Without giving away too much of the story, this much I will tell you ... the title (Dream and Reality) hints at Aragorn's feelings. To illustrate what I mean a bit more, I'll use a line from the first installment of the movie-trilogy. Remember the scene between Aragorn and Arwen right before the Council of Elrond? Well, Aragorn says the following, "I thought, I strolled into a dream..."

Just a short note before you run off to the chapters *grin* Please read the prologue before starting on the main story (which begins, and here's the big surprise, with chapter 1). Also, I'm not using the movie as an outline of my story, but Tolkien's book(s). Well, enough of my babbling, enjoy reading and please review (via email).
